There are lots of exciting events taking place this year, following our Tea Party which successfully raised £469 for Rowcroft. With the help of all who donated prizes, cakes, attended and were involved, we were able to present the hospice with a cheque this week.

Giving your kitchen a coastal feel
With summer upon us many of our customers are looking to brighten up their homes with a stylish coastal feel, from bright blue, white or even red units, work surfaces, tiles and flooring to curtains and home accessories. At Inline Kitchens we offer the full design package to make ideas a reality.
Ian Thomas, Director (Master Planner, with many decade of experience in all aspects of the business) says “When asked by clients how best to achieve this look we advise them that there are a number of ways to do this. Either by going the whole hog from the nits, tiles, flooring and accessories, or simply by accents in their new neutral kitchen. Recently we have fitted a kitchen in the Southams overlooking the Dart and these particular clients have fully embraced the coastal style by having a bespoke blue and white kitchen and using further costal inspired accents to achieve the full look” (picture attached).
One of the designers we use at Inline Kitchens for our Bespoke designs is Mereway, they offer a sprayed flat door so that you can see the grain through the clients chosen colour of finish. If they have chosen a coastal style kitchen this is normally white or different shades of blue; or more recently Mereway have launched a drift wood inspired door which is very contemporary and gives a seaside feel to the home, and again allows the customer to be a daring as they want.
New trends for 2014 include slab style doors, sprayed doors and woodgrain doors, however high glossy, shiny and flat doors are still on trend and increasing in demand. In terms of appliances and gadgets for the kitchen, touch control drawers up and over doors, together with the new siemens teppanyaki hob which is designed for searing meats, a little like a hot plate, are very popular with our customers at the moment.
We have many customers who fully embrace the coastal feel, however kitchens are the centre of the home and the room that is used the most, and with fashions and trends changing so quickly in this day in age allot of clients will choose a contemporary kitchen that will outlast the current trent and customise it with fabrics, accessories and unique finishes, such as brightly coloured splash backs.
Living by the coast means that ideas for ‘on trend’ coastal inspired interiors, often referred to as the ‘nautical’ theme comes particularly easily to Claire Feasby, Inline Kitchens in-house interior designer. “Bringing a light and airy feel to the home with blues, reds, whites, pastel and putty colours and themes gives a clean and sharp feeling during the summer months, and then continues creating a sense of comfortable relaxed summer days well into the winter months”. Says Claire (who has been working for the company, established in 1987, for 4 years).
At Inline Kitchens Claire is lucky enough to work with beautiful fabrics from Romo which suit both those looking for something subtle and those looking to be a little more daring throughout their home (kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, bedrooms and home offices). To complete the look she has access to an extensive range of home accessories from Parlane and Lilly Flame, many of which are stocked in their showroom in Newton Abbot town centre.
So whether her customer lives by coast or in the city, seaside inspired interiors can designed around any age or style of home.
